My two cents:	We went whale watching with Cap'n Fish's Whale Watching Tour in summer of 2008 and we had a great time and saw quite a few whales. $ 38.00 for adults seems a lot but compared to some other whale watching tours, it's cheap and it's locatd in the beautiful town of Boothbay Harbor so you can combine the whale watch tour with a sight seeing tour.
